Welcome Leanna Gavin, 2018 Hill & Robbins Fellow
The Colorado Lawyers Committee welcomes Leanna Gavin, the 2018 Hill & Robbins Fellow who will be working with the Lawyers Committee this summer. Leanna is a rising 2L at the University of Colorado Law School where she serves as President of the Juvenile and Family Law Club and Treasurer of the Public Interest Student Association. Leanna is one of the first students to receive the Leaders in Law and Community Fellowship, a program for CU Law students from diverse backgrounds with a demonstrated interest in public service.
Prior to law school, Leanna earned her Master’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Arkansas while working as a research assistant at the Community and Family Institute. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Sociology, Psychology, and Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas as well. Leanna’s research in graduate school focused on underprivileged youth and disparate health outcomes. She plans to use her law degree and her experience at the Lawyers Committee to build a career advocating for children and the indigent.
Leanna’s work with the Lawyers Committee is made possible by Hill & Robbins, P.C., a Denver law firm. This summer fellowship was founded by Hill & Robbins in 1996 to encourage and support law students doing public interest work in the Denver area.
Thank you, Hill & Robbins and welcome, Leanna!
