colorado nonprofit legal services initiative
In early 2026, CLC launched the Colorado Nonprofit Legal Services Initiative, an ambitious program to build a pro bono legal safety net for high-need, mission-driven nonprofit organizations. The legal landscape for the nonprofit sector has been in turmoil for the past year. Regulatory changes, Executive Orders, and a new federal enforcement approach have generated fear, concern, and questions among many Colorado nonprofits – for some, the current climate represents an existential threat. CLC has a long history of advising nonprofits, having hosted 25 legal clinics for nonprofits, including the Non-Profit Legal Audit Clinic for the last 10 years. We have trained volunteer attorneys and paralegals with experience in serving the unique legal needs of the nonprofit sector, and thanks to our partner, the Colorado Nonprofit Association, and generous grants from the Colorado Health Foundation, Rose Community Foundation, the Buck Foundation, and the Spruce Fund, CLC will be a front-line of defense for Colorado’s philanthropic community in the coming years. Your help is critical to our success. We are seeking volunteers for this important project.
