2026 HILL & ROBBINS PUBLIC INTEREST PAID INTERNSHIP

An exceptional first- or second-year law student from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law or the University of Colorado Law School will be selected as the recipient of the 2026 Hill & Robbins Paid Internship. 

The Hill & Robbins Internship was established in 1996 to encourage law students to do work in public interest. Each year, a student from CU or DU is awarded an internship to work on a public interest project either through the Colorado Lawyers Committee (CLC) or Colorado Legal Services (CLS). Past projects have included the Casillas Pesticide Project to improve the health of Colorado migrant farm workers, the Giardino school capital construction litigation, the Taylor Ranch litigation, and various other ongoing projects within CLC and CLS. 

This year’s Hill & Robbins Intern will be placed with the CLC and will have an opportunity to work on various public interest projects relating to poverty issues and children. The 2026 Intern will work under the supervision of Kathleen McCrohan, Chief Operating Officer of CLC and in conjunction with Kristin Bronson, Executive Director. CLC is a consortium of almost 80 law firms dedicated to providing and increasing opportunities for children, the poor, and other disadvantaged communities through advocacy, negotiation, and litigation. The lawyers and others who donate their time through the CLC focus primarily on systemic changes, rather than on representation of individuals.

The Internship is full-time work for ten weeks during the summer of 2026. The student will receive a total stipend of $6,000. The internship will take place in person at the Colorado Lawyers Committee office (1401 Lawrence Street, Suite 2300) with the option of a hybrid schedule.

The Intern must have strong analytic, research and writing skills as well as the ability to work well with other people. The Hill & Robbins Intern should be an individual with absolute reliability, initiative, responsibility and a strong commitment to public interest law.
