Young Lawyers Division Teams & Areas of Focus

Fundraising & Events

This team plans several CLC YLD educational or networking events per year, including Casino Night, Rockies Game, happy hours and other networking events.


Public Relations & Membership

This team is actively involved in social media and the YLD Newsletter, expanding YLD membership, working with the Fundraising and Events Team to publicize events and maintain an active CLC YLD presence in the Colorado legal community.


Special Projects

An excellent opportunity for transactional attorneys, this team helps organize the twice-yearly Nonprofit Legal Audit Clinic co-sponsored by the CLC and the Association of Corporate Counsel–Colorado Chapter, as well as other special projects, including the Nonpartisan Election Call Center. Team members help facilitate the trainings, coordinate volunteers and organize the logistics.


Denver Legal Night

This team works with Denver Legal Night co-sponsors, the Young Lawyers Division of the Denver Bar Association and the Denver Access to Justice Committee, to ensure sufficient volunteer participation, host trainings, communicate with immigration and family lawyers, solicit feedback, work with Legal Night venues, and safeguard the sustainability of this valuable service to the Denver community. Law students can participate as interpreters.


Hate Crimes Education

This team works with the CLC Hate Crimes Education Task Force to expand and strengthen the longstanding CLC Hate Crimes Education program by attending and participating in presentations, and helping to coordinate our partnership with the US Department of Justice for outreach to minority communities. This team will also partner with the Colorado Bar Association Young Lawyers Division’s Bullyproof Anti-Bullying Initiative to solicit feedback and implement ideas to reduce instances of bullying, hate crimes and bias in Colorado schools.


Strategic Planning

This team, which drafted the original YLD Charter, is responsible for implementing the organization and direction of the YLD to ensure a vibrant and active organization.
