On September 17, 2025, the Colorado Lawyers Committee hosted its annual Awards Luncheon, recognizing leaders who advance justice and equity in Colorado. “We are living through a time of enormous change,” said CLC Board Chair Dave Stark, “And with that change, the need for legal services in Colorado has never been greater. What’s remarkable—and truly inspiring—is how our legal community has responded. Not by stepping back. But by stepping up.”

The Legal Aid Foundation is truly proud to celebrate those who have stepped up, including two honorees with deep connections to our work.

Impact Award – Lexi Chapman

Lexi Chapman, who is a Firm Representative for the Legal Aid Foundation’s annual Associates Campaign, was honored with the Impact Award. The award highlights individuals making a significant difference through their commitment to pro bono service and advocacy. Lexi’s leadership and dedication to strengthening access to justice exemplify the mission of both Legal Aid Foundation and the broader legal aid community.

Law Firm of the Year Award – Womble Bond Dickinson

This year’s Law Firm of the Year Award was awarded to Womble Bond Dickinson, where Ken Rossman, a partner at the firm, also serves on the Legal Aid Foundation Board of Trustees. This recognition reflects not only the firm’s deep culture of pro bono service, but also Ken’s personal leadership and commitment to advancing justice across Colorado.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Lexi and Ken for these well-deserved honors!

The luncheon was sponsored by the Colorado Lawyer Trust Account Foundation (COLTAF), which shares staff with the Legal Aid Foundation. Two members of our team—Jessie Clark-Daugherty, Associate Director, and Emily Tow, Executive Assistant—attended on behalf of COLTAF. We were honored to be joined at our table by guests from several incredible partners dedicated to serving Colorado communities: Colorado Legal Services, Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Center, Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network, and Colorado Center on Law and Policy.

We are grateful to the Colorado Lawyers Committee for hosting such a meaningful event, and proud to celebrate the accomplishments of leaders and organizations stepping up to expand access to justice in our state.
