TRAINING MATERIALS FOR HELPING RESETTLED AFGHANS SEEK ASYLUM
Thank you for your interest in helping resettled Afghans seek asylum.
Training. The Colorado Lawyers Committee (CLC) held a training for lawyers and non-lawyers who want to help resettled Afghans seek asylum. The training was held on March 11, 2022 and was designed to teach volunteers how to help Afghans complete their asylum applications. This page has the recording of the training and the PowerPoints, an agenda (which shows each section of the video and when it starts) and the CLE homestudy certificate for lawyers. Anyone who attended the training or watches the recording online is eligible to help out at the upcoming workshops.
Workshops. The CLC is working with Catholic Charities Denver and others to sponsor workshops to help Afghan families complete their asylum applications. The remaining workshops will be held on September 10 and 24, and October 8 and 22. To sign up for these workshops, click here. No immigration experience is required.
If you are a lawyer who is not currently licensed in Colorado (you are inactive or licensed in another state) we strongly encourage you to submit an application to the Colorado Supreme Court for certification as Pro Bono Counsel.
